C’mon in! This is where you can read through the the privacy policy for this website. We at Videos that Shine (“we,” “us,” or “our”) know that it’s important for us to act with integrity when you share your information with us.

It’s important to know your information is used when you interact with this website and my other video training site. This includes (but isn’t limited just to) oncamerabootcamp.com and videosthatshine.com.

Below you’ll also find tips for using these sites, our services and products.

Privacy Policy

Version number: 1

Last updated:  May 22 2018

1. Intro

Videos that Shine offers video and on-camera training, resources, help and services to interested peeps. The privacy and security of our audience and clients are of utmost importance, so we’re committed to protecting the information you share with us. This privacy policy explains how Videos that Shine processes data that can be used to directly or indirectly identify an individual (“personal data”) collected through the use of our website and services.

For the purposes of this policy, the term ‘visitor’ will be used to encompass all the types of people interacting with Videos that Shine including site visitors, clients & customers.

Any information stored by Videos that Shine is treated as confidential. All information is secured and accessed only by authorized personnel, with appropriate security measures in place to protect against breach or loss.

2. Collection and use

2.1 Email & personal info

If you’re visiting our websites, you’ll be presented with different downloads, offers and/or services. If you decide to access a part of Videos that Shine that is not freely available, IE a lead-gen offer or paid product, you’ll be asked to type in your email address and agree to receive ongoing (relevant) communications.  If you don’t grant the requested consent, accessing the special offers may not be possible.

Depending on which offer you’re signing up for, your info will be processed in one (or more) of the following ways:

Added to Videos that Shine email marketing list on ActiveCampaign, who themselves follow privacy laws with strong security. When you open or click links in our emails, your action will be automatically noted so that Videos that Shine can serve you better. Take a look at ActiveCampaign’s safeguards here.

Payments are processed through ThriveCart, our ecommerce and paid product delivery service, who also adhere to privacy laws with strong security. Check out their policies here.

Payments are then securely processed by Stripe or Paypal, who each follow privacy laws with strong security. View their policies here and here.

Credit card info is never processed by Videos that Shine itself.

2.2 Cookies (not your average chocolate chips)

Cookies are temporary, small bits of info sent to a visitor’s hard disk. They can’t run programs or deliver viruses, nor can they track your behaviour in alarming ways. The Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics are both cookies used by Videos that Shine, solely to track which pages on the Videos that Shine (inclusive) websites you’ve visited and for how long. Rather than record that a specific visitor arrived at the site and did a specific action, they instead track that a visitor from country or IP address (eg NYC or 167.99.134.21) arrived at this page, visited this page next, and hung out for 15 minutes. This kind of cookie is used by Videos that Shine to ensure we deliver content our visitors connect with and find helpful, and to develop effective marketing campaigns.

If you’re on Facebook or Instagram, these cookies may result in you seeing our ads.

FYI, most browsers are first set to accept cookies, though you can set up your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie (or to reject cookies generally). Most browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.) include instructions on how to do so in the “Help” section of the toolbar.

2.3 Links to other sites

Please note: when we link to websites outside the Videos that Shine family, they are beyond our circle of influence – And we can’t be held responsible for their content or privacy policies.

2.4 Right to review & update

If you’d like to learn more about your personal info held by Videos that Shine, simply send us a line at support@videosthatshine.com.

3. Retention & deletion

3.1 Automated unsubscribe

At the bottom of every email sent by Videos that Shine, you’ll find a friendly ‘unsubscribe’ link. When you click on it, you’re automatically removed from that specific list.

3.2 Manual unsubscribe

If you’re a paying client of Videos that Shine and we have a working relationship, tapping that unsubscribe link does not stop all communications, especially if we are mid-project. You’d be removed from that specific list, but emails for 1:1, or group programs, (which are normal between professionals) will stop at the completion of project.

3.3 Right to be forgotten

You have the right to request that ALL your data is stripped of personal identifiers. As a general list subscriber, you’d be deleted from the list and if you’ve bought a product, your personal info will be replaced with generic, non-identifying data (such as ‘VideoStar 23’).

4. Info from kids

At Videos that Shine, we’re serious about the protection the privacy of kids. Our products and services aren’t created for or aimed at children. They are for use by peeps who are 18 years and up. We don’t collect personal data on our sites from anyone we actually know is under the age of 18. We highly recommend that parents and/or guardians assist in their kids’ activities online and to also teach their kiddos about protecting their personal info on the internet.

5. Acceptance of these conditions

We have the right to assume all visitors have carefully read this policy, particularly when they are explicitly agreeing to its terms. If someone does not agree with this policy, they should refrain from using our websites or offers. We have the right to update our privacy policy as necessary, and this will be reflected with versioning details as per the top of this policy.

6. Sharing of personal info

At no time other than disclosed in 2.1 above (for required processing) will we share your data. This includes selling or renting it to 3rd parties.

7. Our legal obligation to disclose personal info

We’ll reveal a visitor’s personal info without their permission only when we are required to by law.
